                                         Hello from Tokyo-Hottest current trends

Hello Kitties!
I've already been in the land of Hello Kitty-Japan for a week now.
The week passed so quickly like the fast trains in here.
Tokyo is a city, full of magic, where imagination goes beyond.
We are staying in a hotel called 'Southern Century Tower' in Shinjuku, a district full of shopping malls, tiny streets with cool little bars and restaurants.
On our first day, we had dinner in this fancy. soba ( a type of Japanese noodle), restaurant inside the Takashiyama, Time Square shopping centre
Another fashionable district, Harajuku is just one stop after Shinjuku and the famous Shibuya is just after that.
I'd like to write about this trip in parts, exploring each fashion districts as there are just too much to cover.
But in this post I want to talk about the hottest current trends in Tokyo!

1. Platforms
On the street I can see, almost every single girl is wearing platforms. Tokyo is screaming PLATFORMS.
They come in all styles and colours. They are divided into the following styles :

-Clog platforms
-Trainer/sport style platforms
-Mary Jane style platforms
-Open toe pump style
-Sandal platforms
- Probably the latest trend, 'piece of artwork', style name unclear platforms

2. Disney inspired
Tops, jumpers, dresses, totes and everything with pictures of Disney characters.
The most famous among the Disney trend is Alice in Wonderland, Minnie Mouse, Daisy Duck, and Marie Plush followed by Snow White.
Tokyo's trendy shopping mall Laforet in Harajuku is currently running Disney Girls Project campaign.
They have a big billboard above the entrance featuring a model with Minnie Mouse and Daisy Duck inspired looks.
Each store in Laforet follows the same theme -Disney, focusing on different characters. For example one store would have more items with Alice in Wonderland while the next one has more with Minne Mouse.
I bought a pink tote with Alice in Wonderland from Angelic Pretty in Harajuku. My knee high, pretty Alice inspired socks are also from Angelic Pretty.
And a pink heart shaped bag with picture of Alice from Nile Perch, another sweet Lolita style store.
I also got a little, crop jumper with Minnie Mouse from, in 109, Shibuya.
I've also got many pairs of tights with Minnie Mouse, Hello Kitty and Alice from Avant Garde, Harajuku.

Long strapped, "Alice" bags from Nile Perch. Aren't they just so kawaii! I got the pink one, but I was also eyeing on the baby blue one.

My "Alice" tote from Angelic Pretty! Yes, I believe in love in first sight. Sometimes.

3. French inspired
The theme 'French' is also quite a trend right now in Tokyo. I've seen a lot of trench coats, striped sailor jumpers and tees and neutral dresses with french words emboidred in the shops, specially in Shinjuku and Shibuya.

4. Mink/tutu skirts
Absolutely love this trend. The Tokyo girls were seen, wearing them with a crop jumper, little trench coat or mini leather jacket and knee or thigh high socks over some super awesome tights and platform shoes. They looked cool, cute, sexy, and rebel!

5. Knee high/tigh high socks
Knee high of any shade, print and design for any event.  Be it school, work or dinner. I'm wearing my Avant Garde knee high on a dinner date.

6. Fringe and wavy hair
I saw so many beautiful girls with this kind of cute, wavy hair with slightly curled front fringe. So youthful, so oh-la-la!

Isn't this Lolita look lovely! J'adore! I bought this cute, girly little mag like art book (as it was called on the cover) from Harajuku! I can't describe how glad I bought it! It's so inspiring and useful!

7. Pink blush, pink sparkly eyeshadow
The make up trick I learned from the Tokyo girls. Go all pink! Pink, gold & brown sparkly palette for the eyes, and rose pink blush for the cheeks, similar shade pink shimmering gloss for the lips.
The blush is not to be applied in the normal more western way like following your cheekbones, but just below your eyes, in circle shape like a doll. I will do a detailed make up post later. :) *:)

8. Kawaii backpacks (small to medium size). School to travel basic, a must-have!

In this pic, as you can see I am so happy! Because I found the paradise!
(109,  shopping centre, Shibuya)

Another kawaii backpack in 109.

These funky ones were in Harajuku, another paradise!
